Make vs. Create - My Start to Creating More
Every year, my goals seem to follow the same theme: exercise more, read more, and save more. This year, I want to do something a little different.
I've thought a lot about what it means to "make" vs. "create" something. In my life, I realize I do far too much "making" and not enough "creating." This blog is my solution for adding more creativity into my life while sharing it with others. In this first post, I want to share my thoughts on the differences between the two and how I plan to be more creative.
What Do I Mean by Make vs. Create?
Make: To form something by putting already existing parts together without it being new.
Create: To form something into existence. Something unique that has been produced for the first time.
In my daily pursuits, I often find myself doing a lot of “making.” I put things together based on best practices, the best-reviewed recipes, or even recommendations for how to wake up in the morning.
Creating, however, feels like my personal paradigm shift. Bringing something new, unique, and maybe unprecedented into existence is exciting to me! I believe that there is an innate longing for many of us to live a creative life, yet we don't actually do anything about it.
My New Year’s Resolution
This year, one of my New Year’s resolutions is twofold: I am going to write every day and build this website. My ultimate goal in all of this is to educate, provide thoughtful insights, and hopefully inspire you to be more creative, all while being creative myself.
If that sounds like something you’re into, join me on this journey as I dive head-first into a creative life. Subscribe to stay updated with new posts and insights.
